The Episcopal Church of St Mary-in-the-Highlands has been literally at the heart of Cold Spring since 1840. The current Church was erected in 1868.

Sunday Masses are at 8:00 and 10:30 am. We offer child care and Sunday School during the 10:30 am service.

St Mary's is a vibrant parish community consisting of a cross section of young families, middle-aged empty nesters, professionals, retired seniors and others.

Located in the Cold Spring National Register Historic District, our beautiful stone Church nestled in the spectacular Hudson Highlands has been called The Cathedral of the Hudson Valley for its graceful grey granite spire rising 128 feet above the village of Cold Spring.

We have a marvelous hall that is available for rentals. It is equipped with a full kitchen and you will find it perfect for meetings, weddings, and receptions of all kinds.

Welcome Visitors

Candles - Photography - Flowers

Photographs preserve the sacred moments of your wedding. The Rector can give you useful suggestions for dealing with photographers. Please inform your photographer that photographs may be taken during the ceremony only from the back and sides of the Church.

No posing for photographs is allowed one hour before the service as this is a time for your guests and those involved to say their prayers. Photographs may be taken prior to the ceremony Ð as long as it is all finished one hour before the service is to begin. After the service there is a limit of 45 minutes for taking of photographs - this is usually more than enough time. The same rules apply for Videos.

Before making a commitment with a florist for flowers or planning for flower arrangements, contact the Director of the Altar Guild. She will be very helpful to you with suggestions for ways of tastefully decorating the church. She can also recommend florists who are known to be reasonably priced and co-operative. It is customary to leave your altar flowers for the worship service the following Sunday (except during Lent - during which time you will be responsible for removing them after the wedding.) The flowers must be fresh (not artificial).

Runners (long paper cloth down the aisle) and "Unity" candles are not allowed.
